Israeli Ambassador to Australia Hillel Newman said on Wednesday that renewed military action against Iran is possible if Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities are not neutralized by a prospective peace deal with the United States. He told Sky News Australia that if Iran continues its nuclear program and develops ballistic missiles, Israel would need to act. Newman stated, 'If there is no deal, and Iran is galloping towards nuclear weaponry, then, of course, Israel needs to defend itself. And it's better to do it sooner rather than later.' He added that Israel hopes the U.S. deal will prevent the need for military action.
