Canberra ACT, Australia

ACT Policing is treating the death of Kylee McHugh, 46, as a homicide after a unit fire in Belconnen earlier this month. Emergency services were called to the apartment complex in Cohen Street on May 14, where they found a fire in a unit. Ms McHugh was located inside the unit and died at the scene. Police initially treated the death as unexplained, but following investigations, it is now being treated as suspicious. Detective Acting Inspector Michael Campbell said police were calling on the public for information. "We are urging anyone who may have seen Kylee in the weeks leading up to her death to contact police," he said. "We are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have had contact with Kylee on or around May 14." Police are conducting a forensic examination of the unit and the surrounding area. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website, quoting reference number 7760748.
