With the possibility of no rain in sight until April, a second round of cloud seeding may be carried out to fill dams in Kedah, which are running low due to the prolonged dry and hot spell affecting several northern states. The National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) and the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) are monitoring the situation closely. The first round of seeding was conducted earlier in the month, but water levels in major dams like the Muda and Ahning dams remain at concerning levels, impacting both residential water supply and the irrigation needs of the Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA) paddy fields.
