
Govt panel to ensure supply of essentials

The Bihar state government has constituted a crisis management group (CMG) to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential commodities and services in the state, safeguard the interests of migrant workers, and review other related matters in view of the global situation arising from the ongoing war in West Asia. The group will function under the chairmanship of the chief secretary and includes senior officials from key departments such as Agriculture, Health, Food and Consumer Protection, Labour Resources, Energy, and Disaster Management. The food and consumer protection department has been designated as the nodal department. The CMG is responsible for formulating a coordinated strategy to monitor supply chains and deal with potential emergency situations. The first meeting is scheduled for March 30, 2026.
