JAISALMER: Terror operatives based across the border in Pakistan are now attempting to trap youths from Rajasthan’s border areas and use them to carry out terrorist activities in India. In a recent case from the Lalgadh Jatan police station area of Sri Ganganagar district, police arrested a youth named Akashdeep for involvement in anti-national activities. The accused had been in contact with Pakistani terrorist Shehzad Bhatti for a long time via Instagram and WhatsApp. During interrogation, it was revealed that on Bhatti's instructions, Akashdeep conducted reconnaissance (recce) in Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab, making videos of crowded and sensitive locations. He also shared plans on how to access these locations with the terrorist handler. Police recovered several crucial clues from the accused's mobile phone, including AI-generated images and evidence of voice chats with Pakistani numbers (+92 country code).
