Meta Platforms Inc. is significantly scaling its AI infrastructure by increasing investment in its El Paso, Texas data center from $1.5 billion to $10 billion. This more than sixfold increase in capital commitment is part of a broader ramp-up in spending to support artificial intelligence workloads. The facility is projected to reach a power capacity of 1 gigawatt (GW) by 2028, highlighting the massive energy and capital requirements of the current AI expansion and placing significant future demand on the regional electrical grid.
