German police have launched nationwide raids over a suspected arson attack on Berlin's power grid that affected many thousands. Six months on from the incident in September 2025, investigators are focusing on alleged links to left-wing extremist networks. The raids took place across several federal states, including Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony, and Lower Saxony. The original attack targeted high-voltage cables in Berlin's Neukölln district, leading to widespread blackouts that impacted critical infrastructure such as hospitals and the city's rail network. The 'Vulkangruppe' (Volcano Group) had previously claimed responsibility for the sabotage, citing opposition to capitalist infrastructure.
