Record-shattering temperatures are expected to continue on Sunday as a rare and strong early-season heat dome has resulted in triple-digit highs in some parts of the Western United States. At Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona, emergency medical personnel treated approximately 400 attendees for heat-related symptoms during the Luke Days airshow. While most were treated on-site, several individuals were transported to local hospitals for further care. The National Weather Service has issued excessive heat warnings as the heat dome persists.
