KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a Level 2 (heatwave) warning for Padang Terap, Kedah. A Level 2 warning is issued when daily maximum temperatures range between 37°C and 40°C for at least three consecutive days. Meanwhile, 12 other areas are under a Level 1 (caution) alert, which is triggered when temperatures reach between 35°C and 37°C for three consecutive days. The areas under Level 1 include the entire state of Perlis; Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Pendang, Sik, and Baling in Kedah; Hulu Perak and Kuala Kangsar in Perak; Jerantut and Raub in Pahang; and Mukah in Sarawak.
