One person was confirmed dead while about 40 others sustained various degrees of injuries in separate tanker and gas explosions that rocked Lagos and Cross River states. In Lagos, a tanker laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) exploded at the Iyana-Ipaja area, destroying several buildings and shops. Meanwhile, in Calabar, Cross River State, a gas explosion at a filling station resulted in dozens of injuries and significant property damage. Emergency responders including LASEMA and the fire service were deployed to manage the situations.
