Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India

A man identified as a cow vigilante was killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district after being allegedly hit by a cattle smuggler's vehicle, leading to protests and tensions in the region. The deceased was identified as Chandrashekhar, popularly known as Farsa Wale Baba due to the battle-axe (farsa) he frequently carried. The incident occurred near the Magorra police station area on the Mathura-Bharatpur road. Following the news of his death, local residents and supporters of the vigilante blocked major roads, demanding immediate action against the perpetrators. Police forces have been heavily deployed to prevent communal escalation and restore order in the Braj region.
