Tehran, Tehran Province, Iran

Former Iran detainee Siamak Namazi expressed deep concern for Americans currently held in Iranian prisons, describing them as 'political pawns' and 'punching bags' for the regime during the ongoing U.S. war in Iran. Speaking on 'Face the Nation,' Namazi and fellow former detainee Emad Shargi highlighted the dangers faced by Reza Valizadeh and Kamran Hekmati, both designated as wrongfully detained in Evin prison. They urged President Trump and negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to decouple hostage talks from broader military or nuclear objectives to ensure the safety and release of U.S. citizens.
