Lassa fever death toll hits 10 in Benue

The Benue State Government has confirmed that 10 persons have died from Lassa fever out of 45 confirmed cases in the state. The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Yanmar Ortese, disclosed this during a press briefing in Makurdi. He noted that the outbreak has affected several local government areas and that health workers are among those infected. The state is currently monitoring contacts and managing cases at the Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi.
