Riyadh Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has announced a temporary ban on the importation of poultry meat, table eggs, and their products from Nigeria and 39 other countries. This decision comes in response to reports from the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) concerning the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). The ban affects 11 African countries, including South Africa and Ghana, as well as various nations in Europe and Asia. The SFDA stated that the measure is necessary to prevent the entry of the virus into the Kingdom and ensure public health safety. Exceptions may be made for products that have undergone heat treatment or other processes that ensure the destruction of the virus, provided they meet approved health specifications.
