BridgePay Network Solutions, a major U.S. payment gateway provider, has confirmed that a nationwide service outage was caused by a ransomware attack. The incident, which began on Friday, February 6, 2026, has disrupted core production systems including the BridgePay Gateway API, PayGuardian Cloud API, and MyBridgePay virtual terminals. The outage has forced numerous merchants and city governments, such as Palm Bay, Florida, and Frisco, Texas, to accept only cash or checks. While the company stated that initial findings show no compromise of payment card data, the investigation is ongoing with the involvement of the FBI and U.S. Secret Service. Other integrated platforms like Lightspeed Commerce and ThriftTrac have also reported service impacts. Recovery is expected to take time as forensic teams work to restore systems securely.
