As of February 5, 2026, 733 confirmed measles cases were reported in the United States in 2026. Among these, 727 measles cases were reported by 20 jurisdictions: Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. A total of 6 measles cases were reported among international visitors to the United States. There have been 2 new outbreaks reported in 2026, and 92% of confirmed cases (671 of 733) are outbreak-associated. In 2025, a total of 2,276 confirmed cases were reported across 45 jurisdictions with 49 outbreaks. Vaccination coverage among U.S. kindergartners has decreased to 92.5%, below the 95% target for community immunity. Hospitalization rates for 2026 stand at 3%, while 2025 saw 11% hospitalization and 3 deaths. Most cases (95% in 2026) occurred in individuals who were unvaccinated or had unknown vaccination status.
