Israeli attacks have killed at least three Palestinians in Gaza in the latest violations of its tenuous ceasefire with Hamas, a day after the United States announced the start of the second phase of President Donald Trump’s plan to end Israel’s war on Gaza. A 10-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy and an elderly woman were killed. Wafa reported Israeli forces shot dead 16-year-old Mohammad Raed al-Barawi in Beit Lahiya. A 62-year-old woman, Sabah Ahmed Ali Abu Jamea, was killed by troops firing from military vehicles west of Khan Younis during extensive demolition operations. Al Jazeera understands a 10-year-old girl was struck by a bomb dropped by an Israeli drone in Beit Lahiya and later died at al-Shifa Hospital. In the 24 hours up to Friday afternoon at least 15 Palestinians were killed, six in bombing of two houses in Deir el-Balah. Israel said it had killed Muhammad al-Hawli, a Qassam Brigades commander, and hit "several terrorists across the Gaza Strip". Hamas said the strikes constituted a new violation of the ceasefire. Since the ceasefire entered into force on 10 October, Gaza authorities report at least 463 Palestinians killed; Israel reports three soldiers killed in the same period. Meanwhile, a Palestinian technocratic committee to administer Gaza under a Trump-led "board of peace" met for the first time in Cairo; Hamas welcomed the committee but disarmament, timing of Israeli withdrawal and reconstruction access remain unclear. The UNDP estimates seven years to clear rubble with uninterrupted supplies of fuel and heavy machinery, conditions not guaranteed as Israel continues to control significant parts of the strip.
